Arthur Burdett Frost I

American illustrator and author
American, (1851–1928)
Frost was one of the leading illustrators of the late 19th century, best known for his humorous drawings of farmers and animals. By 1876, he was on the "Harper's" staff illustrating such books as "Tom Sawyer" and "Uncle Remus." In 1891, he studied with William Merritt Chase and became a successful still life and landscape painter. The poet, Robert Frost, was a distant cousin.
